Fear Factor!

Fear was definitely NOT a factor for these girls! I was so impressed with them; they were great sports and made this activity a lot of fun! For more photos, check out the Picasa Album.

Marshmallow Maiden - the girls had to drop ketchup dipped marshmallows into each others mouths

I don't think Lakell liked the "dog food" (ie. spreadable spam)

Fizzy Duel - They taped alka seltzer tablets to their foreheads and then dueled it out with water guns!

Mustache Mayhem!

"Something Fishy"

This wasn't part of the challenge, but Kristina actually ate the little semi-thawed fish!
For this challenge the girls had to carry the fish from pt A to pt B with the fish in their mouth & flippers on their feet.

Alphabet Soup Spelling B. Tori got double points for not only spelling out her name but also a YW value!
Toe Jam - Lakell's picking up clothes pins with her toes in the slime!

Sour sip!

Cheeto Face - poor Erwina kept getting cheetos in the eye!

Saipan "Youth Musical"

Ok folks, Guam has contacted us about our next youth choir project - A musical presentation preformed by YOU (the LDS youth), and presented in front of, not only the branch, but the public as well. Apparently, they've titled the musical Be Steadfast & Immovable, but it's not Jenny Phillips. The composer is Tami Creamer, and she's actually going to be flying to Saipan on March 7th and 8th just to help our youth rehearse for this. So it's very important that you're all in attendance. Who knows, if you're lucky, they're might be food involved.

So here's the tentative schedule:

Wed., March 5th 6:30-7:00pm: Introduce the music for the first time at mutual. Maybe we can start at 6 or earlier? Unfortunately, that's an important Girl's Camp prep. night that the priests have been working hard to present so it's important that we dismiss from opening exercises promptly at 7 o'clock.

Fri., March 7th, 6:00-7:30p.m.: Practice with the composer, Tami Creamer

Sat., March 8th, morning: Practice with Tami Creamer

Sun., April 27th: Unofficial date for the final performance. This is when the youth in Guam will be performing, and they thought it might be nice to do it on the same date, even if it's in different locations.

Because of Sister Creamer's travel schedule, we'll have to postpone the Girl's Camp hike until 3/15. Please let me know if there are any major conflicts with that adjustment.

Also, thanks again for all of your help with Fear Factor last night! You girls are the best! I'll try and post pictures soon!

CONGRATULATIONS

We're On TV! :]

As many of you have probably noticed, NMC has been in the papers A LOT recently. They're having issues with their accreditation. This will affect a number of us in the branch--me, Jeannie, Daniel, Skylar, Tori, Bianca, Carrie, and the MHS kids (to name a few). With the recent publicity the school has been getting, a newsreporter visited the campus on the 14th to speak with some of the students. Here's the news report from that day: NMC Accreditation: Students Opinions.

Rock'n' Roll Valentine Dance

These are very low quality pictures, and there's not a lot, so if someone else has some pictures of the dance please post them too. :P It was a great dance considering the last minute-ness of it.
I wish it wasn't blurry, :)

You can't really tell, but at this moment Jacob is killing the pinata.

Skylar with Leona:
check out the dancing skills!

Your turn!

Ok folks, why is Sis. Nelson the only one posting on the blog? We want to hear from all of you!

Plus, the pictures are a little unbalanced toward the Mia Maids since they were my class so if you want to "represent" then please add a post.

Until then, here's one more of the lovely Mia Maids (who I'm going to miss terribly). Thanks again for being gracious enough to volunteer and take these awesome photos Pres. Benson.

New Beginnings - Steadfast & Immovable

New Beginnings was absolutely beautiful! Especially for me since I'm relatively new to Saipan and have never in my life experienced anything quite like it. The music we used was by Jenny Phillips who I'd actually never heard of, but I'm very impressed with. Whether you have a young daughter or not, you should really give her music a listen.

Caroline and the girls worked so hard to make the music/program spectacular, and I think everyone there would agree that they were touched by it in some way.

Sister Smith and Sister Solis put together the beautiful decorations! And Sister Brown made the delicious star-shaped refreshments.

Singing Happy Birthday to Sis. Smith!
